HAMKit USB2CIV v1 Interface Overview

HAMKit USB2CIV v1.2, is a compact kit that both interfaces CI-V to a computer, via USB, and also provides a PTT Output and Squelch Sense Input.

The board is designed to fit perfectly inside a Hammond 1551USB2TSK USB Case (supplied pre-drilled) and includes:

• Standard USB Type A plug, providing standard COM port
• 3.5mm 3 Pole Socket, providing standard CI-V Interface
• 2.5mm 3 Pole Socket, providing both
  • TX PTT Output
  • Receiver Squelch Input
• TX PTT LED
• RX Squelch LED

Control of the CI-V interface is via the USB COM port, allowing the HAMKit USB2CIV to be controlled from any computer host software, such as the Ham Radio Delux or the Icom RS-BA1 (IP Remote Control Software).

Using the HAMKit USB2CIV Interface, it is possible to use other computer software such as Echolink and  the COM port RTS and CTS for easy control of the PTT and monitor the SQ.

Using Echolink in Sysop mode for gateway use, you can can control the radio PTT and monitor the squelch line.
