Interfaces

Fully compatible with both ESPKnack and IPEM Plus

Interfaces

The two main interfaces are:

  • Expansion Interface (12 way JST 1mm SH Pin-to-Pin)
  • SPI Interface (6 way JST 1mm SH Pin-to-Pin)

Expansion Interface

This uses a 12 way JST 1 mm socket, to connect, pin-to-pin, onto the main ESPKnack or IPEM Plus.

The Display User Panel could be used for other users projects in much the same way.

Connections includes:

  • 3V3, 5V and Ground
  • I2C Interface
  • Tactile Buttons for Reset, User Program and General Purpose
  • LED for User, 5V Supply and General Purpose
  • USB Interface

SPI Interface

This uses a 6 way JST 1 mm socket, to connect, pin-to-pin, onto the main ESPKnack or IPEM Plus.

The primary use of the SPI Interface, is the connections to the MicroSD Card.

The Display User Panel could be used for other users projects in much the same way.

Connections includes:

  • 3V3  Ground
  • SPI Interface

USB Type C

The USB Type C socket is connected to the Expansion Interface.

It includes two Source-to-Sink resistors.

TVS Unidirectional ESD and Surge Protection is included.

Mounting

The Display User Panel has been designed to fit into the optional DIN Enclosure (Clips into the top).

With the reverse mounted tactile buttons and LEDs, it presents a plain and clean user panel.

Four corner holes are marked but not drilled.  This is for the user to optionally use if mounting in a non-DIN enclosure, or a 3D printed enclosure.

 

Ship Kit

The ship kit includes:

  • 1 x Display User Panel
  • 1 x 12 Way to 12 Way (pin-to-pin), JST 1mm Cable, Length approx. 100mm
  • 1 x 6 Way to 12 Way (pin-to-pin), JST 1mm Cable, Length approx. 100mm

MicroSD Card no included.
