New range of Wi-Fi HaLow STEM board designs in R&D… Release Q1 2026..
Alongside a range of LoRa and LoRaWAN boards, a new range of Wi-Fi HaLow STEM boards are bubbling in the Lab Cauldron.
These boards are set for release during Q1 of 2026, so watch this space!
Wi-Fi HaLow operates in the 850–950MHz license-exempt bands, with 1, 2, 4 and 8 MHz channel bandwidth using the efficient IEEE 802.11ah protocol. This open standard offers long range sub-1 GHz signal coverage, which is great for now only IoT but many other applications.

Wi-Fi HaLow is an alternative to LoRa. They both have their place in projects but by Halow facilitating higher data bandwidths, it opens up new areas in remote IoT.
As a designer, I am reviewing and assessing the various device options (which are many).
